Terms & Conditions
The terms governing your use of WoodCharcoal.in and purchases from the site — drafted per the Indian Contract Act 1872, Consumer Protection Act 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020.
Last updated:
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a binding electronic contract under §10A of the Information Technology Act, 2000, between you and Agochar Tech LLP (operator of WoodCharcoal.in). By accessing the site, creating an account, placing an order, or using any feature, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the Site.
1. Mandatory seller disclosures
Per Rule 5(2) of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, the following information is published for every transaction on this Site:
Seller (and operator of the marketplace):
Agochar Tech LLP (an LLP registered in India)
Registered office: Rajkot, Gujarat – 360005, India
Customer care: hello@woodcharcoal.in · +91 86986 76976 (Mon–Sat, 10:00 – 19:00 IST)
GSTIN: as printed on each tax invoice (also available on request)
Country of origin of goods: India
Grievance Officer: see §14 below
WoodCharcoal.in acts as both the e-commerce entity (marketplace operator) and the seller of the goods listed. This is the "inventory model" recognised under Rule 3(1)(b) of the E-Commerce Rules.
2. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 18 years of age and competent to contract under §11 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872. Wholesale buyers represent that the signatory is authorised to bind the organisation. You agree to keep your account credentials confidential and to inform us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. The products we sell
We sell wood charcoal, bamboo charcoal and coconut shell charcoal in multiple form factors — lumps, briquettes (hexagon, cube, pillow), powders, and activated grades — produced at audited Indian partner facilities. Every SKU is identified by its raw material on the product page, and stocks are batch-tested before dispatch.
- Specifications on the Site (fixed carbon %, moisture %, ash %, calorific value, burn time, lump/briquette dimensions, HSN classification) are typical figures verified for a representative production lot. Actual values may vary by lot and feedstock by up to ±10% due to the natural variability of carbonised biomass.
- Product images are illustrative; the natural black surface of charcoal may differ slightly in shade, sheen and shape between lots.
- Certificates of Analysis (COA), MSDS (UN 1361 Class 4.2 hazmat sheet), proximate-analysis lab reports, FSSAI / FDA documentation for cosmetic-grade and food-contact grades are available on request for wholesale orders.
- Activated-carbon SKUs are sold for the listed industrial use (water filtration, air purification, gold recovery, etc.). They are not medical devices and are not represented as pharmaceutical-grade unless explicitly labelled.
4. Pricing, taxes and payment
- All prices are quoted in Indian Rupees (INR / ₹).
- Retail prices are inclusive of GST at the applicable rate (5% on most charcoal HSN slabs; 18% on activated-carbon HSN). The GST component is itemised separately on the tax invoice issued under §31 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.
- B2B / wholesale buyers furnishing a valid GSTIN receive a tax invoice eligible for input tax credit, subject to GST rules. Wholesale pricing is negotiated per inquiry through /wholesale/.
- Payment is processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited, a Payment Aggregator licensed by the Reserve Bank of India. Accepted methods include UPI, all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay), Net Banking, and major wallets.
- Cash on Delivery (COD) is available for select PIN codes on orders under ₹1,500 inclusive; a COD handling fee may apply and is disclosed at checkout.
- We reserve the right to correct manifest pricing errors before dispatch and to cancel the affected order with a full refund (per Rule 5(3)(j) of the E-Commerce Rules).
5. Order acceptance and dispatch SLA
Per Rule 5(3)(j) of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, we confirm the following:
- Your order is accepted only when we send a written order confirmation email. Until then it remains a request.
- Orders placed before 2:00 PM IST on a working day are dispatched within 2 business days (most often the same day); later orders are processed on the next working day. Charcoal moves Surface-only by Indian regulation, so the carrier hand-off is queued at Shiprocket the moment we generate the AWB.
- An order may be rejected with full refund if the product is out of stock, the shipping PIN is not serviceable, the price was incorrect, or we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraud.
- We do not engage in unfair trade practices as defined in §2(47) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
6. Shipping, returns, refunds and cancellation
Detailed mechanics live on their dedicated policies; they form part of these Terms:
- Shipping Policy — couriers, timelines, packaging, EPR compliance, UN 1361 Surface-only disclosure.
- Refund & Return Policy — eligibility, 7-day window, RBI-compliant refund SLA.
- Cancellation Policy — pre-dispatch cancellation rights for retail and wholesale buyers.
- Wholesale terms — inquiry-driven pricing, custom-packed lots, freight quotes.
7. Use of the Site
You agree not to:
- Use the Site in any way that contravenes Indian law, including the IT Act, 2000 and the IT Rules thereunder.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, any account, or our infrastructure.
- Upload or transmit any content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, infringing, or in violation of Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
- Scrape, mirror, reproduce, or re-publish Site content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
- Re-sell or re-label our products as your own brand without a written wholesale or private-label agreement.

8. Intellectual property

You may link to public pages without permission; any other use requires written authorisation.
9. Product safety and use
Charcoal is a combustible material and a Class 4.2 Dangerous Good under UN 1361. Please use safely:
- Burn only in well-ventilated outdoor spaces. Charcoal produces carbon monoxide when combusted; never burn indoors, in closed garages, tents, RVs or bathrooms.
- Keep away from flammable surfaces, fuel containers and pressurised gas cylinders.
- Use a metal grill, pit or container; never burn directly on grass, wood decking or any surface you don't want stained or charred.
- Fully extinguish coals with water before disposal. Hot ash can re-ignite up to 24 hours later.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from oxidisers, ignition sources and direct sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets while burning.
- Activated-carbon and cosmetic-grade powders are intended for the listed industrial / formulation use; they are not for self-medication or unsupervised ingestion.
10. Warranty and limitation of liability
We provide the Site and the products "as described" in good faith. To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from a single order shall not exceed the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or punitive losses, nor for injury, property damage or other loss arising from improper use of charcoal products.
Nothing in this clause limits your rights as a Consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, including the right to seek compensation for defective goods or deficient service, or to file a complaint with a Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Agochar Tech LLP and its employees against any third-party claim, loss or expense arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of our products, or your violation of any applicable law in connection with your use of the Site.
12. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond reasonable control — natural disaster, riot, fire, regulatory action, pandemic-related restrictions, power or telecom failure, or any other vis major within the meaning of §56 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
13. Applicable law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including the:
- Indian Contract Act, 1872
- Sale of Goods Act, 1930
- Information Technology Act, 2000 and Rules thereunder
- Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020
- Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017
- Legal Metrology Act, 2009 (and Packaged Commodities Rules, 2011)
- Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (where applicable)
Any dispute arising from these Terms or any order shall first be addressed by the Grievance Officer (§14 below). Unresolved disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Rajkot, Gujarat, without prejudice to a Consumer's right under §34 of the CPA, 2019 to file a complaint at the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission with territorial jurisdiction over the consumer's residence.
14. Grievance Officer
Per Rule 5(7) of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and Rule 3(2) of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the following officer is designated to handle consumer complaints, IT-Rules grievances, and DPDP Act data-principal requests:

For payment-related grievances that we cannot resolve, you may escalate to Razorpay's Nodal Officer (razorpay.com/grievance-redressal) or to the RBI Ombudsman under the Scheme for Digital Transactions, 2019.
15. Severability and waiver
If any clause of these Terms is held unenforceable by a competent Indian court, that clause shall be severed and the remaining clauses remain in effect. Failure to enforce any right does not waive it.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law or business practice. Material changes are announced via email to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect.
