Where it's used
The applications Bamboo Charcoal Chips is best suited for, and what to expect in each.
Home air purification
Placed in mesh sachets or open ceramic dishes around living spaces, bamboo chips passively adsorb cooking odours, pet smells and indoor pollutants. A typical 250g pack covers a 15–20 m² room for 6–12 months.
Fridge & cabinet deodorising
Half a cup of chips inside the fridge eliminates lingering food odours; the same trick works for shoe cabinets, wardrobes and gym lockers. Refresh by sun-drying every 2–3 months.
Moisture absorbers
Bamboo's hollow node structure traps humidity from the surrounding air — particularly useful in damp basements, monsoon-season storage and sealed instrument cases (cameras, leather goods, vintage equipment).
Retail packaged products
Sold by air-care brands as the active ingredient in branded charcoal sachets, charcoal-bag deodorisers and natural moisture absorbers. Available in bulk for OEM packing.

Available pack formats from retail to export pallet. Custom retail-print packaging is available above 500 units.

How to use bamboo charcoal chips
A simple step-by-step for first-time users — applies to typical home and small-commercial use.
- 1Decant into mesh bag or dish
Standard usage is 100–250g per room; place in a breathable cotton mesh sachet, ceramic dish or open bowl.
- 2Position near odour or moisture source
Inside fridges, under sinks, in shoe cabinets, near plant pots, or anywhere air circulates around the chips.
- 3Refresh by sun-drying every 2–3 months
Place chips in direct sunlight for 2–3 hours — UV and heat clear adsorbed moisture and odour, restoring 70–80% of original capacity.
- 4Replace after 12–18 months
Adsorbent capacity declines with each refresh cycle. Replace once odour control noticeably weakens (typically a year of household use).
Storage & shelf life
Store sealed in a dry place, off concrete floors. Avoid direct sunlight and proximity to strong-smelling solvents or fragrances — charcoal adsorbs odours readily. Bamboo chips adsorb ambient odours and humidity even when sealed — keep in original packaging or an airtight container until ready to use, otherwise the unused stock spends its surface area on warehouse air. 12-month shelf life unopened.
Why bamboo for this?
Bamboo charcoal has higher porosity and surface area than wood, with cleaner burn but shorter flame than coconut. Best where adsorption (cosmetics, filtration, air purification) or low-ash performance (shisha, restaurants) matter more than raw heat.

Common questions about Bamboo Charcoal Chips. Don't see yours? Contact us or check the full FAQ.
How long does Bamboo Charcoal Chips last?
Burn time for Bamboo Charcoal Chips depends heavily on use case — see the product specifications above for fixed carbon and calorific value, both of which correlate directly with energy delivered per kilogram.
What is the fixed carbon and ash content?
Bamboo Charcoal Chips is produced to a fixed carbon of 78–82% with ash content of < 4% and moisture below 6%. Each lot is tested before despatch and a Certificate of Analysis is available on request for industrial and export buyers.
Is this charcoal food-safe?
Bamboo chips are intended for air purification, deodorising and moisture absorption — not direct food contact. They are safe to use in fridges and food-storage cabinets as adsorbent media (sealed in mesh bags), but should not be ingested or placed in direct contact with food.
What is the minimum order for wholesale or bulk pricing?
Retail orders ship from any variant size shown above. Wholesale pricing (15% off list) starts at 500 kg cumulative across SKUs in a single shipment. Submit a wholesale enquiry via /wholesale/ to request a quote.
Do you ship pan-India? What about export?
Yes — pan-India delivery via Shiprocket's multi-courier network, free above ₹999. Typical metro delivery is 2–4 business days. For export, we ship FOB or CIF from Mundra, Pipavav and JNPT ports with all documentation (HSN 44021000, COA, MSDS, SGS on request).
How is it packaged?
Retail variants ship in laminated bags inside cartons. 25–50 kg sacks are PP-laminated; jumbo bags (500 kg) and pallets (1 MT) ship under shrink wrap. Custom-printed retail packaging is available for order quantities above 500 units — contact sales.
Is GST applicable, and what is the HSN code?
Yes — GST is applied at 5% under HSN 44021000 for charcoal at the despatch stage. CGST + SGST split for intra-state, IGST for inter-state. A GST 2.0 compliant tax invoice is auto-generated on order confirmation.
Why bamboo charcoal for this application?
Bamboo's hollow node structure delivers higher porosity and surface area than wood — the right choice when adsorption (cosmetics, filtration, air purification) or low-ash burn (shisha, restaurants) matters more than raw heat density.
