Where it's used
The applications Wood Charcoal Pellets is best suited for, and what to expect in each.
Pellet grills & smokers
8mm × 25mm cylindrical pellets feed cleanly through standard pellet-grill augers (Traeger, Pit Boss, Yoder, Recteq). Hardwood pellets carry a heavier smoke character than coconut or bamboo — closer to traditional BBQ flavour with the convenience of automated heat control.
Smoking
Hardwood pellets at 100–130°C in a pellet smoker deliver consistent low-and-slow smoke for brisket, ribs, pulled pork and shoulder cuts over 4–12 hour cooks. Smoke profile sits between traditional hardwood lumps and bamboo for a balanced character.
Eco-friendly grilling
Made from waste hardwood charcoal compressed under pressure with a natural starch binder — no petrochemical accelerants, no chemical binders. Cleaner than briquettes for backyard cookouts where you want minimal environmental impact.
Restaurant & catering pellet grills
Commercial pellet smokers in restaurants and catering operations benefit from hardwood pellets when the menu calls for traditional BBQ flavour — particularly American-style smokehouses.

How to use wood charcoal pellets
A simple step-by-step for first-time users — applies to typical home and small-commercial use.
- 1Fill the pellet hopper
Empty the hopper of any prior pellet stock before refilling — mixing brands or wood-vs-coconut can affect feed rate.
- 2Set target temperature
Pellet-grill controllers handle ignition automatically. Set 110–130°C for low-and-slow, 220–260°C for searing.
- 3Wait 8–12 minutes for ignition
The grill auger feeds pellets to the burn pot and lights via a hot rod. Don't open the lid during ignition.
- 4Cook with the lid down
Pellet grills work like ovens — opening the lid releases heat and disrupts the temperature curve.
- 5Empty the ash bin between cooks
Coconut pellets ash to ~3% of input mass — clear the bin every 5–7 cooks to keep airflow clean.
Storage & shelf life
Store sealed in a dry place, off concrete floors. Avoid direct sunlight and proximity to strong-smelling solvents or fragrances — charcoal adsorbs odours readily. Pellets are highly moisture-sensitive — once damp they swell, crumble and stop feeding through pellet-grill augers. Store in original sealed bags inside a dry container; 12–18 month shelf life unopened.
Why wood for this?
Wood charcoal sits between bamboo and coconut on most performance metrics — moderate fixed carbon (70-78%), the longest practical burn time of the three for grilling, and the most familiar smoke and flavour profile for traditional cooking.

Common questions about Wood Charcoal Pellets. Don't see yours? Contact us or check the full FAQ.
How long does Wood Charcoal Pellets burn?
Wood Charcoal Pellets burns for 3–4 hrs per charge in typical conditions. Burn time depends on airflow, the amount loaded, and ambient humidity — outdoor BBQ in monsoon will burn faster than indoor restaurant tandoor use.
What is the fixed carbon and ash content?
Wood Charcoal Pellets is produced to a fixed carbon of 70–75% with ash content of 4–6% and moisture below 5%. Each lot is tested before despatch and a Certificate of Analysis is available on request for industrial and export buyers.
Is this charcoal food-safe?
Yes — these pellets are pure compressed coconut shell or bamboo charcoal with no petrochemical binders, safe for direct-contact cooking in pellet grills, smokers and BBQ. FSSAI compliant for kitchen use.
What is the minimum order for wholesale or bulk pricing?
Retail orders ship from any variant size shown above. Wholesale pricing (15% off list) starts at 500 kg cumulative across SKUs in a single shipment. Submit a wholesale enquiry via /wholesale/ to request a quote.
Do you ship pan-India? What about export?
Yes — pan-India delivery via Shiprocket's multi-courier network, free above ₹999. Typical metro delivery is 2–4 business days. For export, we ship FOB or CIF from Mundra, Pipavav and JNPT ports with all documentation (HSN 44029090, COA, MSDS, SGS on request).
How is it packaged?
Retail variants ship in laminated bags inside cartons. 25–50 kg sacks are PP-laminated; jumbo bags (500 kg) and pallets (1 MT) ship under shrink wrap. Custom-printed retail packaging is available for order quantities above 500 units — contact sales.
Is GST applicable, and what is the HSN code?
Yes — GST is applied at 5% under HSN 44029090 for charcoal at the despatch stage. CGST + SGST split for intra-state, IGST for inter-state. A GST 2.0 compliant tax invoice is auto-generated on order confirmation.
